Quick answer: Veterans Day 2026 is Wednesday, November 11, and the Veterans Day Orlando plans confirmed on official pages are the City of Orlando's parade on Saturday, November 7 at Lake Nona Town Center, military ticket programs at SeaWorld, Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, free entry for military and first responders at LEGOLAND Florida on visits through November 30, and a free Veterans Day meal at Chili's on 11/11/2026. Eligibility differs sharply by park, so read each rule before you buy.

We checked each fact below against the official page on October 12, 2026. Dates and offers change, so confirm before you go. Where a 2026 detail is not published yet, we say so.

Key Takeaways

  • Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11, 2026. Osceola and Polk county schools list it as a holiday, and Orange County Public Schools' calendar does not.
  • Disney's military tickets are specially priced, not free, and they are blocked out November 22 to 28. Universal's Military Freedom Pass and SeaWorld's Waves of Honor each have their own eligibility lists.
  • SeaWorld's calendar lists a Veterans Day Weekend Celebration on November 13, 14 and 15, but the event page had no details for it when we checked.
  • LEGOLAND Florida lists free entry for military and first responders, and 50% off tickets for up to 6 guests, on visits October 1 to November 30, 2026.
  • Not yet published when we checked: Kissimmee's 2026 parade date, SeaWorld's weekend program and a 2026 Veterans Day offer at Kennedy Space Center.

The date, schools and federal offices

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management lists Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 (OPM federal holidays), and the Postal Service lists it on its 2026 holiday schedule (USPS holidays). The School District of Osceola County lists "Veterans Day/Teacher Student Holiday" on November 11 (Osceola academic calendar), and Polk County Public Schools lists a student holiday that day (Polk calendars). Orange County Public Schools' 2026-27 calendar does not list a Veterans Day holiday (OCPS calendars). If your kids are out of school in Osceola or Polk, it may be an easy day for a park.

Parades and ceremonies

The City of Orlando's 27th annual Veterans Day Parade is on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm. The city says it begins and ends at Lake Nona Town Center, with a ceremony after the parade and more for families, and that street parking is available throughout Lake Nona (City of Orlando parade page). Kissimmee's parade page still showed the 2025 date, Saturday, November 8, 2025, when we checked, so we cannot confirm a 2026 date (City of Kissimmee). Check that page again closer to the date.

SeaWorld Orlando: Waves of Honor and the Veterans Day weekend

SeaWorld's Waves of Honor program gives one complimentary admission per year to either SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place for active-duty military, activated or drilling reservists and National Guard, plus up to three direct dependents. The offer is for one park and one visit, and the page says military identification must reflect active status (SeaWorld active-duty page). The same pages describe 50% off guest tickets for the active member's party, which must be obtained online and redeemed at the park by December 31, 2026, with the active member present. SeaWorld says inactive, standby and retired reserve members, military retirees, U.S. Merchant Marine members and civilian Department of Defense workers are not eligible for the complimentary admission. Veterans can use the separate veteran page, which says you must be registered with ID.me, a third party that verifies military status, to see offers such as a discounted Military Silver Annual Pass (SeaWorld veterans page).

Two cautions. First, SeaWorld's own pages disagree with each other in places: the veteran page lists the Military Silver Annual Pass at two different prices, and SeaWorld's two active-duty pages give different guest limits for the discounted tickets (four people on one page, six on another). Confirm the price and guest limits on the offer page after you verify. Second, SeaWorld's calendar lists a "Veterans Day Weekend Celebration" on November 13, 14 and 15, but the event page it links to still described Military Appreciation Month in May, so the weekend's activities were not published when we checked. SeaWorld's calendar lists park hours of 10 am to 6 pm on November 11, 10 am to 9 pm on November 13, 9 am to 10 pm on November 14 and 9 am to 9 pm on November 15 (SeaWorld park hours).

Walt Disney World military tickets and Veterans Day tributes

Disney's 2026 offer is specially priced tickets, not free admission. The page lists a Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket valid through December 18, 2026, and 4-, 5- and 6-day Disney Military Salute Tickets, with Park Hopper options, and says an advance park reservation is required. Eligible service members are defined as active or retired members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard, Reservists, the Coast Guard, the Space Force and the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service and NOAA, and spouses qualify if they present valid and active military IDs. Tickets are sold at participating military base ticket offices, Shades of Green Resort or Walt Disney World ticket windows, and they are blocked out November 22 to 28, 2026 (Disney military ticket page). The terms say an eligible service member or spouse must show valid military identification to buy and use the tickets, may buy no more than 6 tickets in total (one of which must be used by the service member or spouse, and the limit is 5 for someone who already holds a Walt Disney World Annual Pass), and must activate the tickets at a Walt Disney World ticket window. The tickets can be used by family members and friends. Our Thanksgiving week guide shows the park hours for that week. Disney lists the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket at $499 plus tax with the Park Hopper option, and says the prices charged at individual base ticket offices may be less and that no tax is added at a base ticket office or Shades of Green.

Disney's Veterans Day page lists tributes that are not tied to one date: the daily flag retreat ceremony at Magic Kingdom, the "Portraits of Courage" exhibit in The American Adventure at EPCOT, which Disney says is extended through 2026, and the story of Shades of Green, the Armed Forces Recreation Center resort on Disney property (Disney Veterans Day page). Disney's calendar lists November 11 hours of 9 am to 10 pm at Magic Kingdom, 9 am to 9 pm at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios and 8 am to 6 pm at Animal Kingdom (Disney hours calendar). Shades of Green has its own eligibility list, which includes Purple Heart recipients, former prisoners of war and veterans with VA-documented service-connected disability ratings (Shades of Green eligibility).

Universal Orlando Military Freedom Pass

Universal's page lists the 2026 Military Freedom Pass promotional ticket, available for use through December 18, 2026, with 2-park and 3-park options starting from $220 for an adult 2-park ticket. Tickets are purchased through an Authorized Military Ticket and Travel office and activated at a theme park front gate window with a valid military or Department of Defense ID. The eligibility list on the page is active duty, reservists, National Guard and retired members of all branches and their spouses, 100% disabled veterans, and Department of Defense civilian personnel, and the page says to contact your local office to confirm you have the correct identification (Universal military deals). Eligible service members can purchase and activate up to 6 promotional tickets, and one of the six must be for the service member (exceptions apply). The blockout dates Universal lists on the page for the 2- and 3-park tickets are late December 2025 to early January 2026 and March 30 to April 6, 2026, plus a Volcano Bay-only block from October 26 to December 18, 2026. Apart from that Volcano Bay block (and Volcano Bay is closed for season), none falls on Veterans Day or Thanksgiving week, unlike Disney's November 22 to 28 blockout. The Epic Universe add-on ticket has its own terms, so check them before you buy. Universal's calendar lists November 11 hours of 10 am to 7 pm at Universal Studios Florida, 9 am to 7 pm at Islands of Adventure and 10 am to 7 pm at Epic Universe (Universal park hours).

LEGOLAND Florida, museums and a meal

  • LEGOLAND Florida: the page offers free entry for military and first responders and 50% off tickets for up to 6 guests visiting with the service member, for visits October 1 to November 30, 2026, and the intro names veterans (LEGOLAND military offers). The page does not say outright whether veterans qualify for the free entry, so confirm that with LEGOLAND before you travel. It also says military discounts do not apply to annual passes and that its offers cannot be combined with other promotions. LEGOLAND's calendar lists 10 am to 5 pm on November 11 (LEGOLAND hours).
  • Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex: its FAQ says senior, military and military child discounts are available year-round and lists a Veterans Day sale among its annual sales, but we found no 2026 Veterans Day offer published (KSC FAQ).
  • Orlando Science Center: lists a discount on walk-in admission for veterans and active military with a valid military ID, including all guests in the party (Orlando Science Center).
  • Central Florida Zoo: lists a 20% military discount for active duty, Guard and Reserve, non-active duty, retirees and veterans with a valid ID and military ID or DD214 (Central Florida Zoo discounts). The zoo's Veterans Day free-admission release we found was from 2024.
  • Chili's: says all veterans and active military members can get a free meal on November 11, 2026 at participating restaurants, dine-in only from a limited menu, with beverages and gratuity not included (Chili's Veterans Day). Applebee's page that appeared in our search covered 2025, so we do not list a 2026 offer for it.

What to bring: a quick checklist from the official pages

  • Disney: valid military identification to buy and use the tickets, activation at a Walt Disney World ticket window, and a park reservation for each park day.
  • Universal: a current, valid military or Department of Defense ID, both at the Authorized Military Ticket and Travel office and at a theme park front gate ticket window to activate the tickets.
  • SeaWorld: an ID.me account that verifies your status, and for the complimentary Waves of Honor admission a valid military ID that shows active status.
  • Central Florida Zoo: a valid ID plus a military ID or DD214, and the zoo says discounted tickets must be bought in person at its admissions window.
  • Orlando Science Center: a valid military ID for the walk-in discount.
  • Chili's: the offer is dine-in only from a limited menu, and Chili's suggests calling your local restaurant with questions.

Planning a park day with kids on Veterans Day

This is advice. If your child naps, do a morning at the park, return to the rental for lunch and a rest, and keep the evening light. For little ones, bring or rent a stroller (our Universal stroller guide compares options), and note that Disney's park rules allow strollers up to 31 inches wide and 52 inches long and prohibit wagons and stroller wagons (Disney park rules). Honest Sherpa delivers strollers to your vacation rental, with delivery and pickup dates chosen at checkout, and its scooters and wheelchairs category lists a Mobility Scooter and a Transport Wheelchair if someone in your group needs one for a park day. For a SeaWorld day, see our SeaWorld with toddlers guide, and if you are staying through Thanksgiving, read Thanksgiving in Orlando.
